HKU Demo Day x Innovation Week 2026 — The premier platform for entrepreneurial talent ready to take the spotlight!
Innovation Week, HKU’s annual flagship celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship, brings together students, faculty, alumni, industry leaders, and community partners to showcase impactful ideas and foster collaboration. Innovation Week 2025, under the theme “Dreams Unbounded: From Ideas to Global Solutions,” attracted over 600 participants, including HKU senior management, industry leaders, investors, and our vibrant HKU community. The event celebrated and accelerated innovation, featuring around 40 HKU projects and receiving media coverage.
Building on this success, Innovation Week 2026 offers an exciting platform for startups with innovative ideas or prototypes that are actively fundraising or preparing to attract investment. The event provides a prestigious stage to deliver compelling pitches, showcase projects to an engaged audience, and boost visibility within the startup ecosystem.
Participants will have the opportunity to pitch, receive mentorship, and present their projects to HKU leadership, investors, and industry experts. They can network with influential guests and arrange follow-up meetings with potential collaborators. Selected startups will gain media exposure, and top teams will receive co-working space support from iDendron and exhibition opportunities to amplify their reach.

Demo Day
HKU Demo Day is a quarterly event series designed for all HKU-affiliated startups and members of the HKU Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) ecosystem. At each event, promising startups showcase their business plans and latest progress to a curated audience of industry experts and venture capital investors. Each team will have a 5-minute pitch to present their ideas. A panel of distinguished judges will select the winning teams, who will have the opportunity to receive complimentary co-working space support from iDendron, as well as the chance to showcase their projects through an exhibition to further accelerate their growth.
Key Event Highlights:
- Pitch Format: Each startup will deliver a focused 5-minute pitch followed by a 5-minute Q&A session to present their vision and progress.
- Mentoring & Exhibition Opportunities: Participants will receive free training sessions with experienced mentors and opportunities to showcase their projects to HKU senior management, investors, industry experts, strategic collaborators and distinguished guests.
- Networking Opportunities: Entrepreneurs will gain valuable exposure to our distinguished guests. Additionally, one-on-one follow-up meetings will be arranged for investors, collaborators, and startups.
- Media Exposure: Selected startups will be featured in event coverage across local media, offering significant visibility to a broader audience.
- Additional Benefits: Selected winning teams will receive complimentary co-working space support from iDendron and the opportunity to showcase their projects at an exhibition.
