HKU Venture Mentoring Service (VMS)

The HKU Venture Mentoring Service (VMS) is a key initiative of the HKU Super Angel Network (SAN), supporting HKU-affiliated startups through strategic guidance and long-term mentorship. The programme helps founders develop their ventures and bring innovations to market.

As the first official MIT VMS sister programme in Hong Kong, HKU VMS connects founders with mentors from diverse professional backgrounds through a team mentoring model, providing balanced, multidisciplinary advice tailored to their stage of growth.

Official Launch at the Super Angel Symposium 2026

Following its prestigious official launch at the flagship Super Angel Symposium 2026, the HKU Venture Mentoring Service (HKU VMS) has formally introduced an institutional paradigm shift in entrepreneurial cultivation.

This landmark launch debuted a world-class, highly structured, team-based mentorship framework explicitly engineered to guide university founders through the complex continuum from conceptual ideas to scalable, high-velocity market impact. By institutionalising the rigorous operational methodologies pioneered by MIT, the programme transcends conventional advisory models. It establishes a powerful, multi-disciplinary engine designed to de-risk deep-tech commercialisation, bridge the gap between academic breakthrough and global industry adoption, and catalyse a new generation of venture leadership within Hong Kong’s premier innovation ecosystem.

By combining the intellectual rigour of the University of Hong Kong with the elite commercial acumen of the Super Angel Network and the proven methodology of MIT, we are building a premier destination for venture excellence. As we scale our ecosystem into its next phase, HKU VMS stands ready to empower the visionary pioneers who will define the future of international innovation.
