SEED – a pre-incubation programme for early-stage startup in any discipline

 

SEED is an intensive pre-incubation programme designed specifically for innovative or startup projects in any discipline or industrial sector. The three-week programme targets to improve students’ entrepreneurial skills, including business modelling and market validation, through a structured training. Awardees may also have an opportunity to participate in startup support programmes to continue the entrepreneurship journey afterwards.

  • A business idea, project, FYP or company of ANY discipline 
  • The majority of founding team should be HKU current students or staff or alumni

Selection Process & Criteria

Process

The selection takes place in two stages. iDendron will perform first-stage paper-based assessment to eliminate non-eligible applications or applications poorly meeting the following selection criteria. Shortlisted individuals and teams may be invited for an interview by vetting committees composed of HKU members as well as non-HKU members including venture capitalists or industrial experts.

Selection Process & Criteria

Process

SEED programme aims to support around 40 startup projects for each cohort. The selection is based on paper-based assessment; for those that are interested in HKSTP IDEATION, there will be interview or pitch recording submission to be reviewed by a vetting committee at a later stage.
