DeepTech100+
HKU DeepTech100 is a one year co-joint incubation programme with HKU TEC and HKSTP.
This programme is first of its kind in Hong Kong aiming for translating deep tech research outcome from top university into future businesses. HKU and HKSTP will joint force to provide research and development resources as well as business and startup support.

Eligibility
- Person-In-Charge (PIC) must be an HKU member (student, staff, or alumnus of HKU or its affiliated institutions) with at least 20% ownership in the applying or to-be-established company. OR
An existing or prospective HKU IP licensee (with a licensing agreement already signed or being negotiated). Declaration Form of Use HKU IP [Oct 2024 edition]
- Have a deep tech-based project supported by R&D and business planning AND

- For Individual/Team applicants: PIC with an HKID holder aged 18 or above, OR
- For Company applicants: Have a limited company incorporated in Hong Kong for less than 2 years as of the start date of the HKSTP Ideation application (approximately 2 months after the final pitching).

Notes: HKU Staff shall observe and adhere to all relevant policies and regulations related to knowledge transfer and external activities. Prior approval must be obtained from the university management before engaging in any startup and outside activities, including consultancy work. For detailed information, please refer to the HKU Staff Handbook regarding Regulations Governing External Activities.

The selection takes place in two stages including interview by a vetting committee
First stage: Initial Paper Based screening
Second stage: Shortlisted teams face-to-face interview (co-selection interview with HKSTP)

Application Timeline for Cohort 7
The PIC should complete the online application and upload the share link of Pitch Deck and proof of PIC association with HKU on or before the application deadline.
Applicants must submit the Pitch Deck and proof of PIC association with HKU by providing a valid, accessible, and downloadable link to the files when submitting the application. These files should be uploaded to a file-sharing platform (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, etc.)

Lean Launcher Training for Market Validation
We will provide the Lean Launcher Programme to the awarded teams kicks off with a one-day bootcamp, followed by five evening report-back sessions.
