Eligibility:
A start-up company or a team applicant of at least two members, in which PIC must be an HKU member (student, staff, or alumnus of HKU), HKU members should own at least 20% ownership in total in the applying or to-be-established company
Funding Amount: up to HKD1.5M per year
Programme Period: up to 3 years
Application Period: September to October every year
The HKU Entrepreneurship Engine Fund (EEF) primarily functions as a “fund of funds,” creating a “patient capital” cluster to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship within the HKU community. By leveraging the expertise and resources of professional investors from diverse domains and locations, the EEF supports HKU-affiliated startups in their early stages, accelerating their growth and enabling scientific breakthroughs.
Eligibility: Start-up companies with HKU members (students, staff, or alumni of HKU or its affiliated institutions) who hold at least 20% ownership and/or have licensed HKU intellectual property (IP)
Funding Amount: Decided by EEF investment partners, typically from HKD 5 -15M
Funding Stage: Early stage, focusing on Seed to Series A
