LITE Lab@HKU invites new project partners for its Feb – Apr/May 2025 Cohort (due Feb 7)

LITE Lab is pleased to announce the launch of Law, Innovation, Technology & Entrepreneurship Lab at the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law 6th Postgraduate Cohort, and once again invite tech startups, innovative companies, industry associations, and professional service firms to be our LITE Lab@HKU project partners to co-design legal, regulatory and/or policy research projects during the Feb – Apr/May 2025 semester.

LITE Lab@HKU is an award-winning interdisciplinary and experiential programme at the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law to foster law, innovation, technology and entrepreneurship (LITE), including the use of GenAI in the students’ work process. Students spend 9-10 hours per week working largely independently and in groups on their agreed-upon research project legal, regulatory and/or policy deliverables, with regular check-ins with their project partners. LITE Lab@HKU welcomes project partners to invite our students to visit and work from their premises, and also attend our end-of semester presentations.

To date, LITE Lab and its students have worked with more than 180 project partners (including many “repeat customers”) on a broad range of emerging technology and business model topics ranging from online platforms, digital assets, regulation of AI, data protection and privacy, cybersecurity, the metaverse and quantum computing, for a variety of industries including fintech, healthtech, gaming, ESG, etc.

Most of the postgraduate LITE Lab students are law graduates from prestigious law schools from Mainland China, and so projects relating to the Greater Bay Area and Chinese law particularly benefit from their unique experience and background.
