Impact Innovation Lab (The Lab) is now accepting applications for seed funding! The Elementary Training for the Third Cohort was conducted in January 2024, which included a series of courses and activities aimed at equipping participants with essential skills and knowledge for running their social innovation projects. Now, The Lab is launching an open call for social innovation ideas and accepting applications for seed funding until February 21, 2024. Selected incubatees will receive up to $100,000 in seed capital and enter a six-month incubation period. With guidance from multidisciplinary experts, access to resources from a makerspace space, and commercial referrals, The Lab turns startup ideas into reality.
This open call is open to:
• Permanent residents of Hong Kong who are 18 years old or above
• Teams of one to five members
• Proposals related to local poverty alleviation, social inclusion, fostering well-being and cohesion of society
17 projects for incubation have been selected in the first two cohorts. The selected incubatees offer products or services that target to address various social issues, including mobile application development for supporting elderly caregivers, innovative rehabilitation services which combine physiotherapy and creative dance, etc. These social ventures aspire to make positive changes in society.
