This session is designed for startup teams founded by faculty, students, and alumni of the University of Hong Kong. It will focus on the most common legal issues encountered at the early stages of a business—issues that can significantly affect future fundraising and growth.
Topics include choosing an appropriate onshore and offshore corporate structure; founder equity allocation and employee equity incentive plans; ownership and protection of intellectual property; and key Term Sheet provisions and practical considerations when communicating with investors. The session will help startup teams establish a clearer, more workable legal foundation before fundraising.
