About

Dr. Teng Grace Zhang is currently an Assistant Professor and Director of the Digital Health Laboratory at The University of Hong Kong (https://www.aimed.hku.hk/). Grace is a biomedical engineer with a medical background. Most of her research combines both disciplines by focusing on the modeling of biological systems with direct clinical applications, including digital health, auto-diagnosis, optimized treatment planning, and tracking to facilitate real-time feedback with minimal harm and improved outcomes.

Previously, Grace worked for nearly seven years as a Scientific Officer at the St. George Clinical School of the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. She completed all of her tertiary education, including her Ph.D. (Australian Postgraduate Award), at UNSW. Grace also has experience running multiple instruments and drug trials funded by Medtronic and Sigma. She is experienced in managing new systems, having worked at Kunovus Australia for two years as a System Engineer before joining the University of Hong Kong. Grace is a senior member of IEEE, EMBS, and a member of AO and ISSLS, among others.

Her current ongoing projects include mskalign digital management HMRF21223141 、NSFC82303957,NSFC/RGC Joint Research Scheme、HMRF08192266 on light-based AI-driven malalignment quantification, HMRF19200911 on AIS digital health, PRP/078/21FX for surgical planning, AOSpine for automated spine malalignment screening, MRP/038/20X for non-radiation AI diagnosis, ITS/329/19 for anti-migration bone screws, and ITS/286/22FP for Artificial Intelligence Aided Surgical Planning System. Grace’s academic metrics consist of an h-index of 20, 1280 citations, over ten academic awards, supervision or co-supervision of 10 research students, and more than ten academic and industrial awards.
