Innovation & Technology Groups

HKU AI Society

Welcome all HKU students, especially BASc(Applied AI) undergraduates to join!

HKU Blockchain Club

Blockchain at HKU is the first university blockchain club in Hong Kong .We specialize in educating the community by researching different use cases of blockchain technology , facilitating innovative projects and discussion, providing industry experience to members , building out prototypes, and integrating solutions regarding uses of blockchain.

FinTech Society

The FinTech Society at the University of Hong Kong is a volunteer led, not-for-profit group which works closely with start-ups, industry leaders and experts in the field to provide our members with specialised workshops, competitions, seminars, start-up fairs, networking sessions and much more. We passionately advocate and work toward the better future of FinTech in Hong Kong.

Machine Learning Society

While projects do form the core of the society, they will hold little value without the complementing events that help prop them up. Be it talks from academic and industry experts or weekends where anyone can hack and work on ideas, the society is going to host multiple events to unravel some mysteries of the field. With interactive events like ‘Show and Tell’, members get to share their project progress and also talk about what they learnt in the process. The society aims to host events that are interactive, engaging and hands-on.

Technology Commercialization Society (TCS)

The Technology Commercialization Society (TCS) is a student-led group at the University of Hong Kong, supported by TEC, focused on developing future leaders in high-tech industries. We provide HKU students and post-docs with advanced training in patent strategy, business creation, and practical projects to prepare them for careers in patent firms, investment, or launching startups using their own ideas or HKU intellectual property.

Student Entrepreneurship Groups

Entrepreneur Society

The Entrepreneur Society (ESo) is a student-led non-profit committee founded with the vision and mission to create a platform to foster the entrepreneurial spirit among the HKU community. Founded in 2019, ESo has established strong partnerships with venture capitals, accelerators, faculties and other student organizations.

Hackathon Society

We plan to organize an Annual proprietary Hackathon(HackFest) which will not just be limited to HKU students but students from other universities as well. The main purpose behind this is to promote cross-discipline collaboration and give our students a platform to connect with like-minded individuals. This would promote creativity and curiosity among our students which will help them take the initiative to start their own projects. We will also have workshops to prepare the potential participants for the hackathon.
