Dr. Vriko Yu is a marine scientist and the co-founder and CEO of Archireef, a Hong Kong-founded nature-tech company delivering marine ecosystem restoration, biodiversity monitoring and nature-based solutions for coastal and marine infrastructure. Archireef works with governments, ports, developers and energy operators across Hong Kong, Singapore, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, combining eco-engineered marine habitat with multi-year monitoring and regulatory-grade reporting so that ocean biodiversity outcomes can be measured, verified and defended.

A co-inventor of the 3D-printed terracotta Reef Tile and the Eco SeaWall panel, Vriko began this work in a marine biology lab at the University of Hong Kong, where Archireef was spun out in 2020. She now leads the company from Abu Dhabi. Her central argument is that marine habitat should be procured and maintained as infrastructure, with a baseline, a monitoring protocol and a reporting obligation, rather than as a conservation project with an end date.

She is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and serves on Hong Kong government committees on green technology and finance.
