DESCRIPTION:Introduction  \n  \nThe Innovalley HKU International Techno-Entrepreneurship Challenge is organized by HKU Institute for China Business and HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core\, supported by Intellectual Property Department\, The HKSAR Government\, InvestHK\, HKU Technology Transfer Office\, HKU iDendron\, Asia Innovation and Intellectual Property Society\, Qiming Venture Partners\, China Unicom Global Limited\, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation\, and Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited.   \n  \nThe competition aims to promote technological innovation and industrial development\, facilitate international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation\, and accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.  \n  \nThe 2024 HKU International Techno-Entrepreneurship Challenge will bring together top technology experts\, prominent investors and investment institutions\, and industry leaders from around the world to serve as judges for participating teams. This panel will conduct rigorous evaluations and provide guidance\, as well as offer valuable resources and support for outstanding projects.  \n  \n The competition will have two categories: start-up and growth. It will take place across six locations worldwide\, including Beijing\, Shanghai\, Guangzhou\, Shenzhen\, Chengdu\, and Hong Kong (including Overseas). The competition will be divided into four stages: online registration\, empowerment training\, semi-final competition\, and Grand Finale. The Grand Finale is scheduled to take place on January 11\, 2025\, at the University of Hong Kong. DESCRIPTION:Cyberport University Partnership Programme \n  \n\nCyberport University Partnership Programme(CUPP) is an entrepreneurship programme with boot camp\, mentorship and competition that aims at nurturing young talents for Hong Kong since 2015. For the upcoming cohort\, CUPP is themed in Web3 to nurture more young Web3 talents in Hong Kong.\n\nProgramme Structure \n– CUPP Web3 2024 Co-organising Universities are invited to nominate teams of current students and recent graduates aged between 18 to 30 years old. Each team shall consist 3 to 5 team members. \n– The nominated teams will be assessed by written test and interview. Up to 20 teams will be selected to join a series of pre-camp nurturing sessions and industry mentorship in Hong Kong and 7-day Entrepreneurship Boot Camp at Draper University in August 2024. \n– After the Boot Camp\, the teams will pitch to a judging panel in Hong Kong. Selected incubatees will receive up to $100\,000 in seed capital and enter a six-month incubation period. He graduated from Henan Normal University with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in biology\, and obtained his Master of Sciences from Chinese Academy of Sciences and Institute of Genetics. Pengtao Liu received a Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine (Houston\, Texas\, USA). Dr. Liu did his postdoc training at National Cancer Institute (Maryland\, USA). Prior to joining The University of Hong Kong\, Pengtao Liu was a Senior Group Leader and an affiliated faculty member at the Wellcome Trust-MRC Stem Cell Institute\, University of Cambridge. Wellcome Trust\, the EU and NIH funded researches in Liu lab.
